West Salem Middle School Mathcounts

Mathcounts is a national coaching program designed to promote excellence in mathematics and science in grades 6-8.  Students enrolled in the accelerated math program at WSMS complete problems weekly through their Pre-Algebra and Algebra I classes.  In December, we have three in-school competitions to determine the top ten problem solvers in grades 6-8.  The top ten then go on to practice after school twice a week in January.  The Regional Competition is held in early February in La Crosse.  From there, students can qualify for the State Competition in early March in Sheboygan. Mathcounts is coached by Mrs. Weber and Mrs. Bentzen.
