Staff Testimonials
"Why West Salem?  In 2 words…..THE STAFF!  Before I ‘landed’ in WS I taught in various school districts (through clinicals, substitute teaching, and then a full-time teaching position), but no other compared to West Salem in my opinion.  Our staff works very well together, people support one another, and I truly believe that the staff is one of the main reasons that many people who begin teaching in West Salem decide to stay!"-4th Grade Teacher

"I originally chose West Salem because the schedule fit my family schedule at the time.  I was a paralegal for years and I wanted to be more connected to my kids.  I thought I would return to the legal world after raising my children.  Little did I know that I would find working with kids would 'fill my bucket'.  My husband and I are proud alum of WSSD and can't imagine doing this anywhere else.  We have a special thing here in West Salem!" - Administrative Assistant

"I chose to teach in West Salem because growing up in this community there was always something special about being a Panther. I knew that once I started my teaching career, I had to be a part of the West Salem family. At West Salem Elementary I am lucky to be able to build relationships with some incredible people. These relationships are invaluable and make me thankful that I chose to teach in this district."-4th Grade Teacher

"I very much enjoy my position as a paraprofessional at WSMS! Being a Para is a very rewarding role. Each day brings new opportunities to encourage students to learn, grow and to do their best! It is so fun to see a students confidence shine!"-Middle School Paraprofessional

"WSMS has a supportive and friendly atmosphere.  We are all here to help kids succeed."-Middle School Paraprofessional

"It has been fun working with the teachers here at West Salem. Everyone has a positive attitude when working with and helping students. It is nice to have flexibility in our summer work schedule and our administration is always open to new and efficient ways to improve the way we maintain the school and has supplied me all the tools I need to accomplish my daily tasks.

To be a great custodian I feel there is 3 things we need in our daily work:
1. Commitment to a safe and clean environment.
2. Willingness to help staff, students and visitors.
3. Always willing to adapt to new and better ways to complete your tasks."-Elementary School Custodian
