JAMIE OLSON

On December 12, 1974 Jamie Thomas Olson was born to James and Valerie Olson of West Salem. After his birth they moved to South Dakota where he lived briefly as his dad worked in the grocery store business. Due to family ties in Wisconsin the Olson's moved back to West Salem to be around family. Jamie attended the West Salem School district where he participated in many activities athletically and academically. After graduating in 1993, Jamie went on to Winona State University where he double majored in Physical Education and Health plus played 4 years of college baseball where he was the captain of his team his senior year, all conference, and all district. Jamie than taught at Winona Cotter Junior High for 6 years where he completed his Master's degree at the University of La Crosse. While at Cotter Jamie coached Football, Power Lifting, and Baseball plus was the acting Junior High Athletic Director. Jamie returned to West Salem for the 2006-07 school year as an Elementary/Middle school PE/Health teacher. He moved into the High School full time in 2008 and has been there ever since. Jamie is active in the community coaching various sports (H.S. Assistant Football & Head Baseball Coach) and being a member of the Game Getter's Bow hunting club. Jamie is married to Donna (Hoyer) Olson and they have 2 children, Isaac and MaKenna.
